Spring 1998

This past year proved to be a pivotal one for HunnyTruck. Their first Canadian summer tour far surpassed even the band's wildest expectations. Audience receptions from city to city were enthusiastic and extremely encouraging.

The band recently went through a line up change. In December, drummer and original member Chris Smith decided to accept a sales position at BMG Canada. His amicable departure left HunnyTruck with the daunting task of filling a rather large "hole" left by a very talented musician. As luck and fate dictated, the band quickly found "the fourth" they were looking for. Michael Rosenthal has come to HunnyTruck by way of bands like Sacrifice, Rhea's Obsession and Random Killing. A seasoned and highly creative individual, Mike brings to the band a distinctive percussive style and personality that has only helped to intensify HunnyTruck's patented musical chemistry.

HunnyTruck has recently reemerged from a three month period of self imposed exile. It was during this time of intense musical collaboration that the band wrote and demoed much of the new material now being showcased in their rejuvenated live show. The band's latest recorded offering includes three of their most infectious songs to date: Stories & Tales, Anyhow...Anyway and Maybe A Curse. Initial feedback from fellow musicians and industry representatives confirm HunnyTruck's belief that these songs represent a significant leap forward in the band's sound and musical craftsmanship. HunnyTruck is understandably optimistic about what prospects lie ahead of them in the coming year.

HunnyTruck has recently picked up their busy performing schedule while supporting such acts as The Gandharvas, The New Meanies and as always, their good friends The Barstool Prophets.
